All of us see
everything through the filters or our own unique beliefs, fears,
experiences, judgments and positionalities, and many of these filters
are unquestioned or even unconscious. We naturally assume that other
people must see the world in pretty much the same way we do… but
this is not necessarily so. This is often called paradigm blindness.
The realization that different people literally experience a totally
different world than we do opens up understanding and even compassion
for the inexplicable behavior that we often see in others. It also
allows us to make better choices in our personal relationships and in
our marketing efforts.
